Iron Clover is the handle I have used for time now. Be assured that I have no connection, or affiliation, with any covert or paramilitary organization. The design consisting of the clover element superimposed on the metallic cross is an original device used to identify my handle. |
This website is, at its most basic level, an exercise in web design...And another chance for me to show off my artistic side. Its lay out was done entirely with MSWord97 with the included web authoring tools. Another excellent piece of software is MSPhotoEditor, which comes with W95. This allows you to pick a color and make it transparent. Notice how the "Iron Clover" picture seamlessly appears to rest on top of the background? That is how this is done.
After creating the image in Paintbrush, I fill the canvass with orange outside of the image (because orange is not being used in this particular picture). Then, I paste it into MSPhotoEditor and use one of the tools to make the orange background become transparent. Then it must be saved in GIF format. Now it can be placed over any background without that distracting "box" that had accompanied it before.
Building web pages in this way gives it a professional appearance, without costly development software or having to find the time and money for classes. I believe sharing ideas and knowledge over the internet should be free. Fortunately, I have seen hundreds of places that offer quality web art for no charge. Most of them ask only that you give them the proper credit and recognition they deserve. Most of the time, they only ask that you provide a link to their site so that others can benefit from their services. Many even have it set up to where all you have to do is either cut and paste it or just click on a button, and it is done for you.
This section, when completed will contain images that I have produced on my home PC. Some (like the one below) will have come from tutorials that I have modified. Others will be original compositions

I have always taken an interest in genealogy and heraldry. I plan to create a small section of this homepage to cover this.
When this section is finished, it will contain links to some of the schools I have attended.
Have you ever stopped to think about the trivial and were not able to come up with a reasonable answer? I will begin to place some of these inquiries here as they come to me.
As you have probably guessed, this section will give proper credit to those who have contributed to building this homepage. I will have it broken down into categories because the list keeps becoming longer as I go along.
